Our story
Cultivating Oʻahu with the patience of legend.
Family-owned since 2005, we've grown from one truck and a love of native plants into the island's most-referred landscape studio.
Who we are
Rooted in the island. Grown by hand.
The Menehune are Hawaiʻi's legendary craftsmen — master builders said to raise fishponds and stone walls in a single night, working with a care the island still remembers. We took the name as a promise.
We began in 2005 with one truck, a trailer, and a conviction that Oʻahu deserved landscapes built the honest way: native-first, water-wise, and planted to mature over decades. To keep that promise we grew our own island nursery, so every specimen is acclimatised before it ever reaches your soil.
Three trucks became thirty. But the philosophy hasnʻt changed — the same team designs, builds and tends every garden, and 98% of our work still comes from neighbours telling neighbours.
What guides us
Three values, in the old language.
Hawaiian principles that shape every design decision and every visit.
01
Mālama ʻĀina
Care for the land
We treat every property as borrowed from the next generation — building soil, saving water, and choosing plants that give back to the island.
02
Nānā i ke kumu
Look to the source
Great gardens begin with the land itself. We read the site — its light, water and history — before we ever reach for a shovel.
03
Ho'omanawanui
Patience & persistence
Like the Menehune of old, we work with care and see it through. A landscape rewards patience, and we build for the decades, not the season.
